Day 5 of 5: Live the Abundant Life
⛰️ Freedom is more than escaping the cage. It is learning to live with courage, expectation and mountain-moving faith.
🕊️ Day 5 of 5: Out of the Cage — A Faith That Soars
📖 Scripture
John 10:10 (KJV)
“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”
🪞 Reflection
Getting out of the cage is only the beginning.
A bird can be released and still remain close to the ground. It can spend its time looking back at the place that once confined it instead of discovering the life that is now available.
We can do the same spiritually.
Jesus may have delivered us from a former season, but we continue rehearsing it. We may no longer be trapped, yet we keep thinking, speaking and living like prisoners.
Pastor Norman reminded the church not to stand outside the cage moping over what was left behind. Jesus came to give us abundant life.
Abundant life is not a promise that every circumstance will be easy. It is the assurance that, through Christ, fear does not have the final word, failure does not define us and difficulty cannot separate us from God’s purpose.
Faith is an adventure.
It follows God when the destination is unclear. It believes when circumstances appear impossible. It prays over mountains instead of allowing those mountains to determine the boundaries of life.
Mountain-moving faith does not deny reality. It recognizes that God is greater than the reality we can see.
You were created to use the wings God gave you.
You were created to worship freely, love boldly, give generously and obey courageously. You were created to demonstrate what life can become when it is placed completely in the hands of God.
Ask yourself:
⛰️ Am I living with expectation or merely trying to survive?
🦅 Have I stepped out of the cage but remained afraid to soar?
🗣️ Do my words reflect fear or faith?
🚶 What new step is God calling me to take?
Do not spend your freedom longing for the familiarity of captivity. Lift your eyes, spread your wings and trust the God who called you out.
The cage is not your home. The abundant life of faith is.
💡 Jesus did not set you free merely to stand outside the cage. He set you free to soar.
🎙️ From the Sermon
Pastor Norman described the abundant life as the opposite of complacency. He challenged believers not to remain miserable outside the cage but to recognize that faith is an adventure filled with mountain-moving power. God calls us to move forward, live expectantly and believe that He is more than able.
🙏 Prayer
Father, thank You for calling me into an abundant life through Jesus.
Help me stop looking back at the places from which You have delivered me. Replace fear with faith, complacency with expectancy and hesitation with obedience.
Give me the courage to follow You into new territory. Teach me to live freely, believe boldly and use my life to help others discover freedom in Christ.
Amen.
