Day 5 of 5: Live Ready From a Place of Peace
🕊️ God does not prepare us through panic. He makes us ready as we learn to rest in His presence and trust His voice.
🕊️ Day 5 of 5: The Power of the Armor — Fitted and Ready
đź“– Scripture
Psalm 46:10 (KJV)
“Be still, and know that I am God.”
🪞 Reflection
There is a difference between getting ready and living ready.
Getting ready begins only after the moment arrives. Living ready is the result of daily preparation.
Pastor Sonny described telling his family to put on their shoes and be ready to leave. When it was time to go, that was not the moment to begin searching for socks, fixing hair or gathering everything they needed. Preparation was supposed to happen before the call to move.
Spiritually, many of us ask God to use us, guide us and give us opportunities—but we wait until the moment arrives to prepare our hearts.
Readiness is built through daily experience with God.
We do not prepare only on Sunday. We meet with Him on Monday, Tuesday and throughout the week. We remain in His Word, listen for His voice, pray, worship and practice obedience. Then, when God says, “Move,” our spiritual shoes are already on.
But readiness does not come from frantic activity. Paul says it comes from the gospel of peace.
We can only stand ready when we are at peace with God.
The world trains us to hurry. We work, schedule, drive, solve problems and repeat the cycle until exhaustion feels normal. Yet an exhausted soul is easily distracted, discouraged and pushed off balance.
God invites us to rest.
Sabbath is not an outdated practice. It teaches us that God remains God when we stop working. Rest reminds us that our lives are sustained by His faithfulness—not our constant activity.
Being still does not mean becoming passive. It means quieting the noise long enough to remember who God is. From that place of peace, we can work, serve, obey, worship and face the enemy without being controlled by fear.
Ask yourself:
🕊️ Am I living spiritually ready or constantly scrambling to prepare?
đź“– Is time with God part of my daily life or only my Sunday routine?
🛑 What is keeping my soul from resting in God’s presence?
🥾 If God called me to move today, would my spiritual shoes already be on?
Jesus is coming again, and we are called to live awake, faithful and ready. That readiness is not driven by terror. It grows from loving Jesus, knowing His voice and finding peace in His presence.
Be still. Know that He is God. Then rise ready for anything He asks you to do.
💡 Daily time in God’s presence gives us the peace to stand and the readiness to move.
🎙️ From the Sermon
Pastor Sonny taught that readiness is developed through a daily experience with God, not a once-a-week encounter. He connected the gospel of peace with Sabbath, stillness and rest, reminding believers that when we function from peace, we become ready to work, serve, obey, worship and face whatever comes.
🙏 Prayer
Father, quiet every anxious and hurried place within me.
Teach me to be still and recognize that You are God. Help me build a daily life of prayer, Scripture, worship and obedience so I am prepared when You call me to move.
Give me the wisdom to rest and the courage to act. Fit my feet with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace, and make me ready for anything You ask of me.
Amen.
