Day 1 of 5: Receive the Gift of Salvation
🪖 Your confidence in Christ begins with what He has done for you, and His grace gives you a firm place to stand.
🪖 Day 1 of 5: The Power of the Armor — The Helmet of Salvation
đź“– Scripture
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—”
🪞 Reflection
What gives you confidence that you belong to Jesus?
On a good day, it can be easy to feel secure. You have prayed, read your Bible and treated people well. On a difficult day, a failure or an old regret may leave you wondering whether God still welcomes you.
Ephesians 2:8 directs your attention to the grace of God. Salvation is His gift, received through faith. Jesus’ death and resurrection provide the foundation for your hope.
In Ephesians 6:17, Paul tells believers to take the helmet of salvation. Before we consider how this helmet protects our minds, we need to remember whose saving work we are trusting. We cannot manufacture salvation or earn it through a flawless performance.
Pastor Sonny emphasized that the helmet we wear rests on the work of Jesus Christ. When shame tells you to hide, return to Him. When pride tells you that you can manage without Him, remember your need for grace.
Receiving this gift also shapes how you live. Gratitude moves you toward obedience. When you recognize a sinful attitude or action, you can confess it honestly and respond to God’s correction. You do not need to pretend that you have everything together.
Today, begin with a simple prayer: “Jesus, thank You for saving me. Help me live in the confidence of Your grace.”
Let that truth settle into the places where you have been trying to prove yourself. Bring your failures to the Savior who calls you to repentance and offers forgiveness.
Ask yourself:
🪖 Where have I been trying to earn what God offers through grace?
🪞 What regret or fear makes it difficult for me to rest in Christ’s saving work?
đź“– What does Ephesians 2:8 teach me about the source of my salvation?
🙏 How can gratitude for Jesus shape one decision today?
Take up the helmet of salvation with your confidence in Jesus. His grace is the starting point for the life He is teaching you to live.
💡 Remembering that salvation is God’s gift helps us face each day with humility, gratitude and confidence in Christ.
🎙️ From the Sermon
