🕊️ Day 5 of 5: There Is Power in the Vine — Bear Much Fruit

📖 Scripture

John 15:8

“This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.”

🪞 Reflection

We often think of spiritual growth as something personal—and it is. Jesus changes our hearts, heals our wounds, renews our minds, and strengthens our faith.

But the fruit He produces in us is not only for us.

In the sermon, Pastor Brittany asked a challenging question: What kind of fruit are you bearing? A branch does not consume its own fruit. Its fruit becomes nourishment for someone else.

The patience Jesus grows in you may bless your family.

The kindness He develops in you may reach a coworker.

The self-control He strengthens in you may break a harmful pattern for the next generation.

The faithfulness He builds in you may encourage someone who is ready to give up.

Even the people who frustrate you—and those who oppose you—may encounter Jesus through the fruit your life produces.

🍇 Fruit is evidence of connection.

We do not produce lasting spiritual fruit through willpower alone. A branch bears fruit because it receives life from the vine. In the same way, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control grow as we remain in Jesus and allow

His life to flow through us.

This means the goal is not to appear fruitful. The goal is to stay connected.

When we abide in Christ, He changes what we offer the world. Instead of passing on fear, bitterness, anger, or confusion, we can offer grace, truth, courage, peace, and hope.

Ask yourself:

🍇 What fruit is my life currently producing?

👥 Who is being affected by the way I live?

🌿 Am I trying to manufacture fruit without remaining in Jesus?

🤲 Which fruit of the Spirit does someone around me need to receive today?

Your walk with Jesus is personal, but it is never meant to remain private or self-contained. God wants to produce much fruit through your life for His glory and for the good of others.

💡 Stay connected to Jesus, and let the fruit of your life become nourishment for someone else.

🙏 Prayer

Jesus, You are the source of every good thing in me.

Keep me connected to You and produce fruit that reflects Your character. Replace bitterness with kindness, anxiety with peace, impatience with gentleness, and selfishness with love.

Show me who needs the fruit You are growing in my life, and help me serve them with humility. May my life bring glory to the Father and point others toward You.
