📖 Scripture

John 15:9

“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love.”

🪞 Reflection

Jesus does not merely tell us to remain productive.

He tells us to remain in His love.

That distinction matters.

If we focus only on fruit, we may begin measuring our worth by our accomplishments.

We may assume God loves us more when we succeed and less when we struggle.

We may turn spiritual growth into another performance.

But the life flowing through the vine is love.

❤️ Love that finds us before we improve.

✝️ Love demonstrated at the cross.

🤲 Love that corrects without abandoning us.

🌿 Love that continues nourishing us through every season.

We do not obey Jesus to earn His love.

We learn to obey because we are already loved by Him.

His love becomes the secure place from which transformation grows.

When we forget that love, fear begins directing us.

😟 We compare ourselves with others.

🏆 We chase recognition.

🫥 We hide our weaknesses.

💔 We interpret correction as rejection.

But when we remain in Christ’s love, we no longer have to prove that we belong.

We can repent without running away.

We can receive correction without collapsing into shame.

We can celebrate another person’s fruit without questioning our value.

We can endure an unfinished season without assuming God has forgotten us.

✝️ The cross settled the question of whether Jesus loves you.

Your circumstances may change.

Your feelings may rise and fall.

Your progress may sometimes feel painfully slow.

His love remains.

The invitation of the vine is not to visit that love occasionally. It is to make your home there.

Remain when life is fruitful.

Remain when you are being pruned.

Remain when answers feel delayed.

Remain when you feel strong.

Remain when all you can pray is, “Jesus, keep me close.”

💡 The power of the Christian life is not found in trying to become enough. It is found in remaining with the One who is enough.

You are a branch.

Jesus is the vine.

Stay connected to His truth, receive His life, and remain in His love.
