🌿 No matter how far you have moved, Jesus is still the Vine—and He is calling you back.
🕊️ Day 5 of 5: There’s Power in the Vine — The Power of Still
📖 Scripture
John 15:7–8
“If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.”
🪞 Reflection
Moving away from Jesus rarely begins with one dramatic decision.
It often begins with small movements.
We stop praying honestly.
We avoid Scripture because it challenges us.
We withdraw from godly community.
We keep running toward temporary relief.
Over time, the movement leaves us tired, restless, and spiritually dry.
Jesus warns that a branch separated from the vine withers. This is not because the branch failed to stay busy. It withers because activity cannot replace connection.
Pastor Sonny described life apart from the Vine as constant movement—running, circling, covering, worrying, and searching for peace where peace cannot be found.
But the sermon did not end without hope.
🌿 A withering branch can call out to the One who saves.
Jesus is still the true Vine. He is still able to forgive. He is still able to restore. He is still able to produce fruit in a life that feels dry and depleted.
Maybe you have moved away from Him.
Maybe you are still connected outwardly, but you know your heart has resisted His work.
Maybe you have been running so long that you no longer remember what stillness feels like.
Today, you can stop running.
You can confess what has pulled you away. You can return to His Word. You can ask Him to save, restore, and steady you again.
God receives glory when lives that appeared withered begin producing fruit again. Your restored life becomes evidence of His grace—not merely the same fruit as before, but much fruit that shows the world you belong to Jesus.
Ask yourself:
🏃 Where have I been moving away from Jesus?
🔥 What has constant striving cost me?
🕊️ What do I need to confess and surrender?
🍇 What fruit does God desire to produce through my restored connection?
Your worst day with Jesus is still better than your best day apart from Him. You do not need to clean yourself up before returning. Come honestly, come humbly, and come now.
💡 Stop running. Return to the Vine. Remain long enough to become fruitful again.
🎙️ From the Sermon
“Your worst day with the Vine is better than your best day apart from the Vine.”
🙏 Prayer
Jesus, I am tired of running.
Forgive me for every way I have moved away from You or resisted Your Word. Seek me, restore me, and teach me to remain.
Let Your life flow into every dry and weary place. Produce much fruit through me so that my life brings glory to the Father and points others toward You.
Amen.
✍️ Today’s Action
Take one concrete step back toward Jesus today. This may be confession, prayer with a trusted believer, returning to church, reopening your Bible, or asking for pastoral support.
Ask:
🕊️ What do I need to confess?
🌿 What step will reconnect me to Jesus and His people?
🍇 What fruit am I asking God to produce in this next season?
What I am confessing and leaving behind:
My step back toward Jesus:
The fruit I am asking Him to produce:
