Day 4 of 5: Know the Enemy’s Play

📖 God’s Word helps you recognize the enemy’s patterns and respond with truth.

🕊️ Day 4 of 5: There Is Power in the Vine — Run the Play

📖 Scripture

Psalm 119:105

“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”

🪞 Reflection

The enemy wants you to believe that your struggle is completely new, uniquely hopeless, and impossible to overcome.

But Scripture tells a different story.

Throughout the Bible, we see people face temptation, rejection, fear, delay, injustice, grief, pride, and uncertainty. We also see how God meets them, corrects them, strengthens them, and makes a way forward.

Pastor Brittany explained that the enemy does not need a new strategy if the old one still works. The players and circumstances may change, but his patterns repeat: distort God’s

Word, question God’s goodness, attack identity, create distraction, and tempt us to respond outside of faith.

That is why daily time with God matters.

When Jesus was tempted in the wilderness, He answered with Scripture. He recognized the attack and responded with truth. We cannot consistently recognize a lie if we are unfamiliar with what God has said.

📖 The Bible is not merely information; it trains us to see clearly.

Through God’s Word, we learn how the enemy’s schemes have appeared before. We also learn that God was faithful then, He is faithful now, and He will remain faithful.

Prayer, Scripture, worship, obedience, giving, and serving may feel simple, but they keep us connected to the vine. We do not need a more impressive strategy. We need to keep practicing what God has already given us.

Ask yourself:

🎭 What familiar lie keeps returning in different situations?

💡 What truth from Scripture exposes that lie?

📖 Am I spending enough time in God’s Word to recognize His voice?

🏃 What faithful practice have I been tempted to abandon?

Do not let the enemy convince you to stop doing what keeps you connected to Jesus. Turn on the light. Open the Word. Run God’s play.

💡 The attack may be familiar, but so is God’s faithfulness.

🎙️ From the Sermon

“It’s the same play. It’s just different players. But I won’t get played.”

🙏 Prayer

God, thank You for giving me Your Word as a light.

Help me recognize the lies, distractions, and repeated patterns of the enemy. Bring Scripture to my mind when my identity, faith, or peace is under attack.

Give me discipline to pray, read, worship, serve, and obey even when I do not feel like it.

Teach me to respond according to Your truth.

Amen.

✍️ Today’s Action

Identify one recurring lie you have been believing. Find a verse that directly answers it and save that verse somewhere you will see it throughout the day.
