Day 2 of 5: Be Strong in His Mighty Power

⚔️ Victory does not begin with what you can do—it begins with depending on what God has promised to do.

🕊️ Day 2 of 5: The Power of the Armor — Be Strong in His Mighty Power

📖 Scripture

Ephesians 6:10–11 (KJV)

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”

🪞 Reflection

Spiritual battles expose the limits of human strength.

We may be disciplined, intelligent, experienced, and determined, but none of those qualities can replace our need for God’s power. Paul did not tell believers to become strong in themselves. He told them to be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.

This distinction matters.

💪 Our strength runs out.

🔥 God’s power does not.

🧠 Our understanding is limited.

👑 God sees the entire battle.

In the sermon, Pastor Sonny reminded us that overcoming obstacles, breaking unhealthy habits, establishing new patterns, and resisting the enemy cannot be accomplished through willpower alone. We need God’s strength.

But depending on God does not mean remaining passive. Paul gave the church an instruction: put on the whole armor of God.

God provides the armor, but we must choose to wear it.

This is partnership. God will not force us to read His Word, accept His truth, walk in righteousness, pursue peace, exercise faith, remember our salvation, or pray. He supplies everything we need, but we must participate through obedience.

Sometimes we ask God to do for us what He has instructed us to do with Him.

We pray for strength while neglecting Scripture.

We ask for peace while feeding fearful thoughts.

We ask for victory while refusing correction.

We want God to remove the battle when He is teaching us how to stand in it.

Putting on the armor is a daily decision. Yesterday’s obedience cannot replace today’s surrender. Every morning, we must remember that our confidence is not in our ability to control the day. Our confidence is in the God who has already provided everything necessary for us to remain standing.

Ask yourself:

⚔️ Where have I been relying only on my own strength?

🛡️ Is there a piece of God’s armor I have neglected?

🤝 What act of obedience is God asking me to partner with Him in?

🙏 Have I been asking God for rescue when He is calling me to readiness?

You may feel weak, but weakness does not disqualify you. It can become the place where you stop depending on yourself and begin experiencing the strength of the Lord.

When you say, “I can’t,” God reminds you, “I can.” When you feel insufficient, He remains the great I AM.

💡 The armor is God’s provision; putting it on is our participation.

🎙️ From the Sermon

Pastor Sonny emphasized that God wants to work with us and through us. Our responsibility is to do our part by receiving His instruction, putting on the full armor, and preparing to stand.

🙏 Prayer

Lord, I confess that I cannot win spiritual battles in my own strength.

Teach me to depend on Your mighty power. Show me where I have been passive, resistant, or self-reliant. Give me the discipline to put on every piece of armor You have provided.

Work in me, with me, and through me. Help me obey Your instructions and stand confidently in Your strength today.

Amen.
